OUR STORY

Tecnifibre's inspiring journey commenced in 1979 when Thierry Maissant, a devoted tennis enthusiast, co-founded Major Sport with former F1 driver Hermano da Silva Ramos. This marked the brand's inception and its mission to create sports products tailored to tennis players at every level. Notably, Tecnifibre revolutionized the string market with polyurethane technology, maintaining the tradition of 100% "Made In France" strings. In 1985, the brand extended its expertise to produce stringing machines and became the official stringer for numerous ATP tournaments. Over the years, Tecnifibre's global recognition grew, earning the honor of providing strings for the French Open and fueling its dedication to athlete-specific products. The brand's commitment to excellence also led to rackets tailored for competitive players, from squash to tennis. Further milestones include the creation of ITF and FFT-approved tennis balls, and a comprehensive program called NEXT that supports aspiring young players in partnership with Serbian player Janko Tipsarević. These endeavors have strengthened Tecnifibre's global presence, exemplified by Lacoste Holding's acquisition of 80% of the brand's capital in 2017. Today, Technifibre continues to empower athletes and uphold its legacy of innovation, while celebrating its 40th anniversary with a TF 40 Party in Paris, featuring athletes and friends of the brand. Recent achievements include Daniil Medvedev's remarkable wins at the Rolex Paris Masters and Nitto ATP Finals, along with rising tennis star Iga Swiatek's Grand Slam victory achieved with a Tecnifibre racket.
